Choosing the Right Hair Colorist

To respond to some of our readers' requests, I’d like to share some great tips on how to choose the right colorist in your area. Getting your hair colored should be more than just sitting on the chair and praying that the colorist understands what you want. Here’s what you should look for in your next hair color professional:

·     Consultation time. Dialogue is a must! Whether this is a first-timer or life-long customer, an eye-to-eye sit down is a must.
·     Consideration. Budget, availability and lifestyle (5 kids, husband, dog and bunny to take care of) should be taken into consideration before suggesting to a brunette a full head of blonde highlights requiring religious salon visits!
·     Open Forum. Hair colorist must open a space for clients to voice questions, concerns, hair issues.
·     Honesty. The hair colorist must listen to what the client wants, but also needs to step up as a professional/expert and educate.

  1. I never know which color to go with, but I always recommend Salon Ratay! But when it comes to dentists I only recommend those located in Costa Rica!
